I'm firmly with Red on this one. I love the direct response and feel of low volume boards and never been a fan of excess foam. I generally ride 2 3/8" thick which most people who have a go just don't get on with. I like to think of them as surgical scalpels as opposed to slightly blunt instrume...

Just posted pics in the boards gallery of my first hand shape inspired by the Friar Tuck twin fin :D

Feedback would be great but go easy, it is the first time i've ever been hands on with foam and a planer!

Cheers

Xmas, that orange board is stunning!!

Albert, thanks so much for taking the time to take pics and measure them up. I'll get pics on the go as soon as the foam starts flying! :D :D :D :D

Cheers

Friar Tuck twins, 4's and slabs

I've had a blank come in to my possession that I think will be perfect for making a retro style Friar Tuck twinny. It's a board i've always wanted to own but getting a real one is very unlikely!! I may even go the ski tail/4fin route depending on what info I can get. I would really appreciate some f...

It's definitely down to technique rather than wave size. I can get a good boost of speed through cut backs out of my fins forward tri even in pretty junk waves (which I surf a lot of!). Driving the board is definitely the key as illustrated perfectly by the shot of Simon. I like the fin cluster spre...

Thought he was South African but confirmed when talking to Crox whilst watching the clip and he sussed it in the first 4 seconds from board and style alone!! ! Plus when you click on the posters profile it says Lester Sweetman, South Africa, 31! :D As Albert said, the board and style is VERY Gigs! I...

Where is he from, what does he ride and why haven't we heard much if anything about him before?! Some good solid hits there and obviously a lot of energy in his surfing.

Good find cs! :D

I found out recently that no matter how magic a board, another one can be even more magic! My all time favourite 5'10" round pin which i thought would never be beaten, suddenly lost its magic after riding my new 5'11" for 3 months or so straight. Decided to take old faithful 5'10" out...

Clueless here! That's some solid charging though, that backdoor barrel at the end is sweet! 8)

Is that a Kneeon he's riding? Logo looked kinda like it in a couple of shots.

My small wave boards are wide (24") and i'd have to say they do fit the curve of the wave well because the extra width dictates that there is more curve in the outline! Keep the rocker same as all round, maybe just ease the entry rocker slightly but still masses of tail lift. The board picks up...

Fascinating thread as always Mr.Wax! Following with interest but can't get my head around a genuine contribution yet :?: My only thought is on your last point, if the bottom was totally frictionless surely upping the fin size would be contradictory and add more friction and drag again? Or would the ...
