Quadfin, I suggest you get a hold of a Blast Stubb Vector; I have one and can comfortably surf as small as 1-2', and with the very wide tail it gets over flat spots about as well as anything short of a long board can do. It's really made small waves a new delight for me, and could ride a tanker wav...

Coming from the mushy east coast, I'd recommend over 6' and PE/PU composition. Weight confers momentum. (if two objects are moving with the same velocity, one with twice the mass of the other also has twice the momentum) My lightweight EPS/Epoxy boards definitely lose momentum in mushy surf... Defi...

I have a 5'10" Flashpoint that I can usually catch waves with LB's but cant connect through the flat spots. A lot has to do with the water entry and water release on a pretty thin kneeboard by Mr. Hart. I like your concept on the Baked Potato, Sandgroper and going to scope one in a shop. I came...

Tanker Surfing Kneeboard

I have moved to the Texas Upper Coast and where some of my buddies are hard core into Tanker Surfing in Galveston Bay. Fulbright and Co were in Step into Liquid and James operates a charter service to surf tanker waves. These guys are paddling in on longboards and must push over the many flat spots ...

Oceanside Kneeboard

Friend has a clean square tail twin fin kneeboard labeled "Oceanside". Has future boxes so thinking 80's. Researching I found Oceanside Surfboards out of Cocoa Beach that began business in 1967 and the label looks similar.

Anybody have any info?

Sad, but an international problem. It is one of the reasons I live where I live. On our rare crowded days the out-of-towns tend to gather in bait balls for protection from us geezers. You have to send in a SUP down the middle to break up the ball and have the longboarders with duct tape on the rails...

We are getting a lot of local support for the event. Longboards, Shortboards, and Kneeboards all count equal with extra points for age, gender, and youth.

Had the op to test out my paddling techniques today in head high plus surf and rips. We have a jetty where we paddle the rip to the outside and then head down the beach about 1/4 mile to the surf spot against the current rushing to the jetty and pass. I noticed today that I was gaining on shortboard...

Well....I snapped mine playing badminton on the 12th November this year. Only a few weeks ago. They decided against an operation for me, as the Consultant reckoned the ends were close together and recent research says they can heal up if treated right. So I was straight in a temporary cast for a we...

Best advice I saw was in the book "Kook" "Paddle with your arms, not your hands..." It does mean that you rock to the side a bit when paddling, but you get used to the rhythm. Also holds for swimming -see Total Immersion swim videos. One of the changes that I have made is rockin...
