Thanks John, thanks Bruce for the info. I thought it was just that I was lame - getting old and losing my touch. I will try your suggestions. Bruce I will get that shirt  as soon as I can. John, can you send me some of those Watsonville artichokes? Can't find 'em that good up here.

Peace and good waves to all.

Good advice John.
Willy, I think the G3 or YU are good bets for a balance between control and restrictiveness

album_showpage.php?pic_id=3322

I am always amazed how effortlessly he glides through the water.

Not a displaced droplet of water, well..out-of-place!

I'd give that moment 20% simon, 80% board

photographic evidence of that unusual slippery feeling

and the wind in his face keeps his hair in place

mate,

that is very generous

:D ..thx

reality check

fifty-fifty..best bet.

the chicken first..and then the egg

it is then that "2 plus 2 can equal 5" :?: (quote Kyle Bryant strategy 2002 Worlds)

PS

Isn't Simon illuminating the North Shore right now?

and in doing so, continues to open even more doors

ha..

But hart ...where did the chicken come from?

not wanting to be an antagonist...but it is an open forum

does 50/50% mean that if i purchase a flashie (which i hope to do one day at some stage) that i will automatically be 1/2 as good as Simon?

"the horse before the cart me thinks" ......and good horse DOES deserve a fine cart to be sure but.......id drink a good wine from a tea cup and still happily get drunk

I think I was being generous to Simon

To the right underneath the falling foam is clear evidence of his track

At the moment he's made his cut to a new line

and his concentration is all wave, his posture relaxed, precisely the moment when the best shapes disappear, vanish beneath you

as you say.. not a droplet out of place

the ride in its totality belongs to Simon. He's the artist painter, the wave his canvas, the board his brush and pallate

percentages are useless in analysis of art, moving film being the best medium to capture the art of surfing so far

so what can be said about one frame?

I was struck by the sublime color

providing your intention was to get drunk..

I'd like to offer that good wine is about enjoyment..to which a correctly-designed glass will surely add.

Because taken to the extreme, your arguement will soon lead you straight to the bottle in a brown paper bag..

Stylish

Enjoy the journey while you can..I happen to be in no rush to get where I'm going..

hart

ps

willli..

loved the surf school dude..and the more I think about it doesn't it sound like a great second job?

were you bored bruce :?:

to attend to this so seemingly long past post :!:

but i did suggest a good horse deserves a fine cart -

context is the biggest problem when relating @ ksusa

Have you heard of Joanna Beach past cape Otway on the way to the 12 appostles - a thumping southern ocean wave were, to my infinate pride, a good buddies brother (a fisherman/sufer from Appollo bay) called myself and a mate "Hellmen" because we would (in our youth mind you!!!) paddle out in extreame conditions there - this guy was choice with his words so we beamed at the attention

anyway

the brother of another mate (all friends older brothers and younger brothers following in their footsteps) was building a shed on the red Joanna road - to be his house until he built his house - a decent shed mind you

one evening after an arfo surf and helping this chaps trade mates on the construction - we were all to sleep under the stars on a fine australian day weekend

we drunk from tea cups - not glass shaped for a northen beaches wine bar :!:

and there i was thinking you were a man of the people - a pub drinker

we got happily drunk and waxed lyrical about the stars, the waves and all sortsa bull - it was our intention to arise in the open air theatre of our bedroom in the am early!

we did - and surf

stylish - very!, satorial elegance - charm.........

bruce there was really no argument and an extreame can run in many directions - but you should know of me enough by now - that i try and avoid extreames

but bruce i do recocognise Josophines breast when i see it and have indeed tasted from it

but its the taste (and the drunkeness) of the essence of a moment that cant be found - but remembered by a tea cup, that suggest there is really nowhere to go, so both haste and a lack of hurry are of no real substance

on topic

that momement is a FLASHPOINT in my memory for when things get out of hand

ps: i think i have a photo of me drinking from something in a brown paper bag on the steps of a monument in Toledo Spain - location is everthing sometimes eh!
