Nice website, lots of choices. They do not list the thickness or the material and they are $60.00 a sheet plus $25.00 for self stick. I suspect that they are on the thin side and probably made out of EVA.

$60 to $85 is still a good deal considering that you will get up to four boards out of a sheet.

I took a second look at that site and saw the pads that are on sale for $25.00, what a great deal. Do you know what the thickness is? Anything a 1/4 to 3/8 would be great. I would pay the extra $25.00 and have the self stick tape added to it.

I contacted them and they told me the stuff is 1/4".

They are sending me samples.

Hey does the new Parkes pad cause rash when used with no suit. They look nice but I have used the pad material that Romo insets on his boards and that stuff...well although it has good grip it tears you up. The Parkes pads look like simular material. The raised dimple Parkes doesnt rash you up but can be slick at times.

I've made that observation before and have other tell me that it was
not their experience....hard to believe
EXCEPT Ron R tends to apply the pads and then buff/grind them down
around the edges so that they are more flush with the board.

I doubt it, but it could be the case that the Romo pads that have been
sanded are perhaps the culprit and not the unsanded pads?

On the new Parkes pad, Steenos was saying 'no rash', but with a distance
of over 3,000 miles and having a belief in 'Symphonic Truth' I'd like
to hear others chime in.

no rash caused at all... thats my experience, I have used them for months at a time with no rash guard or wetsuit, never had a rash come up from using them...

although I just spoke to David about the new pads he just came out with, he said the new ones will give a bit more rash than the old ones.

I've been using Parkes kneepads for over a year now on my flashpoint, so thats 2 summers here, and haven't had any problems. I do tend to wear boardies and rash vest though.

Just got a sample card from the Hydro-Turf folks.

Very cool color selection.
The stuff seems ok.
1/4" thickness.

If you like'm thin then I'd say the stuff is a go.

Did you get the flat or another texture?

The sample card has 16 pieces of 1 1/2" squares.

Each is a different color, solids like black, gray, blues, greens etc.
There's also marbled and camo.

All are groove cut.

The flat surfaces between the grooves seemed to be a brushed finish.

Unless someone warns me not to, I'm going to use wetsuit glue to glue down some 6mm off the chest and back pannel of my old wetsuit. I'll report back with the results.

I'm afraid it will deteriate quickly and then I'll have a hard time removing what remains on the board.

wetsuit glue sticks real well,rubber to rubber;Not good rubber to glass.Rubber is porous.Gloss or sanded finish not
Been there......3m makes a good adhesive that works.May the glue gods be with you....
