3M Super 90 Spray-on Contact Cement of Heavy Duty Brush-on Contact Cement work well and are readily available at the local hardware store. I don't think neoprene would be a good option for pads.

I received some samples of the Hydro-Turf pads. Like Bud says, looks like a good option for those that like very thin pads. It's only 5mm thick, and pretty dense. I would prefer 10mm. Available in a variety of colors and textures (flat, groved, diamond cut).

Okay, I guess I'm on the lookout for a camping pad since several people have warned me against using neopren. One thing that was mentioned to me is that neoprene will soak with water and add weight, but more important not dry easily and stink after awhile. Any way to tell in the store if a camping pad wont do this? Would a drop or two of water be enough to tell me? If it soaks in bad, rolls off good.

I've got a roll of some gray diamond pattern padding material I purchased from North Shore Inc. that I'm not going to use. I'll GIVE it to you. Send me a PM if you're interested. You could probably do about 4 or 5 boards with the roll. I'm down in Watsonville.

BUD/JOE Regarding the hydroturf pads, Robert O'toole gave me a couple of pieces with the grooves and self adhessive. They work fine; very durable and stylish, just a bit too thin for my liking. Robert said they were used on jet skies. My personal favorites are Parkes bubble tuxtured pads. They have never given me a rash either. The new Pakes pads look cool.
PADS can't ride without them, started using them my third year of kneeboarding......way back in 1972....GULP... the oldkneeman

I'm not just saying this because their an Oregon company, but...
They have lots of choices. Various thicknesses, smooth or various grooved patterns. Lots of colors. You can buy it by the square foot or send them a template and they will cut it for you. And bevel the edges. Peel off adhesive and all materials are made in house. I bought a pre-cut pad that was for a kiteboard, cut it down the middle, seperated the two halves a couple of inches and it was a perfect fit on my new Blast.
And being Oregonians, they are very nice people

I agree with the ''old kneeman'' Parkes bubble pads.The bubbles compress and spread out,and the spaces inbetween catch and hold the suit kneepads.Been trying to get another set...Don's either hoarding them,or I'm way down on the list....

got a large piece of yoga pad,fairly thick...way to heavy for my taste.
Managed to scrape off parkes pads off an older board.Will have to work for my next board[flash]Anyone have a new set of parkes they want to sell,let me know. Can't get ahold of don.Maybe he's holed up in sausalito?
