What works & what doesn't and in what type of conditions. Got a "secret" only you and your shaper know???? Post it here... we can keep it quiet ;-)

Need suggestions on a board and if you have one for sale

Post by surfjones »

Posting in 2 places. Hope thats OK.

Great website! Thanks for all the good info. The videos are very cool!!

I've been a stand up surfed for 30+ years. On and off for the last 5 years and now I boogie board with my son but I'm looking for something in between. I saw a couple of kneeboarders up in South Carlsbad recently and thought I'd check it out.

So, I'm 5'10", 180 lbs and looking for an all around board for 2-6' waves for San Diego style waves. What do you suggest for length, width an style of board? I remember the fish being very popular in the 70's when I started surfing.

If you have a board for sale let me know. Maybe we can work something out. I prefer a local buy so I can skip the shipping and packaging BS.

Thanks, Jones the NFG Very Happy

Knee boarding is just a fad. Most of the time we surf in the dark so no one see's how much fun it is. It would be cool to turn your kid on to this form of srrfing. I would go 5'5" to 5'7" quad. to start. Get one with a deck pad. check the used board section.

pretty sure this board is still avail for $240 through ok-Tony something to think about. And though i started on a single fin, I prefer trifin over quad. seems to carve the face a bit better for me

Surfjones,

You would be very happy with a 5'10" to 6'0" in the 23.5 width range.
Quad or Tri fin, but keep it a modern forward fin style board.

See if Chris Busemi has any of his Blast boards still for sale.
Craig Russell has been thinning out his quiver as well.

Thanks for everyone's input! I just have to process all the input and figure out what board to get.

Hopefully I'll see you in the h20!
