Magic boards.....mid 70's 5'8"x21" single fin rounded pintail shaped by the great MIKE DIFFENDERFER, worked great for waves 4-12', super fast!!!!!!!!! 5'7''x21"double winged channel bottom swallowtail single fin shaped by GARY GOODRUM (shred craft), really fast, turned on a dime, worked best at big blacks, horseshoe, big rock.....my first quad, shaped by RICHARD GOMEZ (MEZFISH)5'8"x22,with a flipped vee, insanely fast, ultra responsive, surfed well in anything.......I've had so many great boards during my40+years of surfing......I could have a list a mile long......

Here is something to think about. ....... Still have the "magic" board ?? If not , why ?? If you do, then why do you have other boards ?? Why over the yrs, have you bought so many boards ??

For me, I don`t believe in the "magic" board. One board to do everything, thats a tuff sell. All boards have pluses and minuses
I have never or will I ever buy a board off the self or call someone and have them send me a board with a certain shape. Not going to happen. I want to ride want "I" want to ride. I say this because i`m not searching for "The Board".
Over the 31 yrs I have been kbing, I have owned 8 boards. I still have 6 of them. My designs and I like what I have designed . I still ride all 6, some more then others.
So, instead of the "magic" board, maybe it should be your favorite board ??
I`m sure I fuffled a few feathers but oh well. The idea was to make you think..

still have one, but most of mine have been ridden into the ground or broken  . the one I still have is a prized possesion and is only ridden on special occasions :) . for me, updating boards, and therefore having had many, has been about new ideas and progression (or having broken the last one).
magic v. favourite - wouldn't they be essentially the same?

I have just declared my 5'10 double wing Aussie tri Flashpoint my magic board. This is V3 for me and the first Tri. My only problem with it is that it cuts back so fast and my eyesight is getting so bad I can't see where I am going. Good news is being so close to the water on a kneeboard I can grope for whitewater and stand ups who take off behind me.

Quadfin.....happy fo you brah.....we all know what that feelin' of a 'MAGIC BOARD" feel's like.....it's like the first time you ear and understand Miles Davis or Muddy Water's, or the first time you see a Rainbow, or the first time you hear a parrot in the wild, the joy of Santa Claus's presents, your first kiss from a loved one,...or that first swoooosh when the tube races over you......
