Freeline Futures

Post by surfhorn »

John Mel just left for his annual 2 weeks in Fiji (12th year in a row!).

He took with him some new KB shapes that are over 6'0". And I'm talkng a new direction for Freeline KB shapes. Should be an interesting Spring and Summer around here.

BTW - Spring is officially at 5:07 PM today here in California.

I surfed with John at "Sewers" about a week or two after the World Contest.

He was riding the board that Baden gave him and doing quite well on it.

I wonder if his "new shapes" are leaning in that direction.

Exactly, Bob. The demos are in the 6'2" + range.

John pulled in the nose (more like the thrusters he makes me than the typical Freeline quads) and went for the conave bottom. Freeline went throught a concave stage back in the mid to late 1970's on into the 80's.

Hopefully, some one will be on the camera.
