What works & what doesn't and in what type of conditions. Got a "secret" only you and your shaper know???? Post it here... we can keep it quiet ;-)

interesting mr wax... i ride big fins in the back because if they're forward i cant turn the sucker... :x

but im more of a forward rider into rail turns ...i have a hard time with riding off the tail...it takes alot more concentration trying to land further back on the pad and it doesnt feel natural....

......

but i think mike meant why are the front fins single foiled and back fins double foiled as well....

well Rastavich uses all double foiled quad fins that are all of similar size :!: :?:  ....

and the first kboard i bought had all single foil quad fins of similar size....

you yourself mike reversed your F2k setup in santa cruz and said it was looser that way....but switched em back before OUR heat which was head-high mush right?...what were your thoughts on this? and have you tried the reverse set-up at your local?

its definetly a personalized taste thing, not written in stone but foam(thats re-shapable)

True Matt, I did switch my fins. The reason was it was a big day at Moss Landing.
When I was in Indo, and the fin on my 5'8" Blast quad broke out (crappy FCS crap) , Wesley let me use his 5'10" Blast quad, it had the big fins in back, and I found it to be loose, and a magic board in the bigger waves I had been surfing. I offered him $250. on the spot, it's old, but he said no, he knows how good it is I guess
My quad had the big fins in front, but I found it hard to turn and get on the rail in big surf.
I have never noticed how I ride, from the tail, or if I use the rail. All I can say is I like to pump my board across the face instead of doing a big bottom turn to top turn, back to bottom.

No problem :)

I wax unlyrically sometimes. Bit like a moon. Waxing and waning (err rambling :) ).

Good to see a bit of design discussion.

Thanks for prodding it along!

Important to share ideas.

Otherwise we'd still all be sitting on a beach rubbing one stick together to make a fire.

cheers

Strapper - contact Michael De Stasio
He's a great kneeboarder and shaper who has a surfshop in Torquay. Nice guy - I'm sure he'd be willing to help you out.
He only rides twinnies and a number of guys on that coast follow suit.
