Feedback on deck pads
The topic of deck pads has probably been beat to death, but I've never used them. While checking the web page I've seen casey, blast, nivhi, native & cove. Any and all feedback welcomed.
Thx to all.

They all work well. The bonus being a bit of cushion between the board and the knees, which need protection;knee problems are no fun. Also wetsuit knee pads last longer.
And less screwing around with wax, which to me is a pain in the arse. Some seem to like the wax deal.Different strokes......
cheers

hey Painterman,
I'm of the "no pad" persuasion, but I won't dissuade anyone who wants to use 'em. To me, it's kinda like surfing on stilts, if that makes any sense...but it's amazing what we get used to.
I'm sure all the pads named here are excellent pads, I just wanted to throw out another excellent option: Pendo pads. They are installed during the actual fabrication of the board, so the pad lays flush with the deck.
Do a search on Mollusk Surf Shop in OBSF, I think they may still have a few Pendo's laying around. Also do searches on Swaylock's and a couple of other surfing / shaping sites.

Painterman, I don't use pads either, but I have in the past a couple times. Pendo pads are also available here in San Diego by Steve Pendarvis, a one-time Lounge crew member, and pretty nice guy!
He's at www.pendo.com. In the late 80's Rich Pavel put a wibulator into my entire deck so the whole board would flex. (Boooiiinggggg).
