Time for a new board

I never thought I would make this many boards, so I never felt like learning how to install a removable system. I retrospect, it would probably been a good choice financially since I could use the same fins for different boards (fins sets can cost as much or more than the blank). I was also concerned that if I screwed up the installation of the plugs/boxes, I would really be screwed. With glass-ons, you can grind them off and reposition (although I have only done this for a board someone else shaped). One more sad fact - with my boards, if there's something wrong with the board, changing the fins is not going to fix the problem. Regarding the choice of foam density in the blank, I just get what's in stock at the supplier (usually the red). And yes, they do get dinged up. Putting in the deck patches has helped. Not eating it as often would help even more.

the deck pad looks great. The hole board looks great can't wait to here how it surfs. all your hard work will be worth it.

Only had the board out a few times (some family issues have reduced my surf time for the last several weeks). Paddles and catches waves fine and overall balance feels pretty good. I bit of weirdness in a few circumstances, hopefully things I can figure out as I get used to the board and ride it in different (i.e. better) conditions.

Sorry for the late post, I have to agree with brad on the fins and foam, recommend routering out the deck area where your knees are and use a sheet of divinycell if your going to use red. Just from my experience. Also a sheet of carbon 2x2 over that and your board will be almost impervious to the pressure dings. Here's one of my suppliers for aircraft stuff.
