Grubby speaks,
As I stated in my letter to all former customers, Clark Foam as you knew it is over. However, what I did not state is that the future of Clark Foam rests in the hands of one of you lucky, lucky surfers. Thats right. Burried deep within the contents of 12 of my foam blanks manufactured over the past ten years is a Golden Ticket! Thats right! Break your boards open and have a look inside! If you are the holder of a Golden Ticket this means that you are a contender to carry on the legacy of Clark Foam. All Golden Ticket holders should call +55 5 58 41 77 05 for more information. Until then, I will be in Oregon tending my sheep.

You never know where an event will take you. A long time aquaintence has been hired as Walker Foams PR guy and I've been doing a bit of consulting.

I've suggested they forget about standup blanks and concentrate solely on producing kneeboard blanks. You should have seen the blank stares........LOL I always like to break the tension with a bit of levity.

Post by hart »

will Walker manufacture (or does make) a kneeboard blank?

or do the American shapers have to make do with what is available?

interested to know if someone can inform me

There is a link on the walker site with a catalog but no mention of kneeboard specific blanks:

With 14 available blanks, rather than dozens that were available from Clark (http://www.foamez.com/pdfs/CF%20Blank%20Catalog.pdf - save a copy of it while it's still there) , plus varying rockers, etc..... like somebody said recently, the surfboard shapers are gonna have to learn to mow foam, not just skin blanks. And I'll bet delams are gonna be far more common, etc.

For us- well, there never was a kneeboard blank. Which is okay, we'll get by, as ever.

----The Clark 6'2" C made more than a few kneeboards. It was one of the most popular blanks for making the Fish.

Now that I have a guy on the inside, maybe I can lobby for a kneeboard-specifc blank. You just never know.........

To all shapers: What would you like to see in a KB blank? Dimensions, etc.
Can one blank serve the needs of all KB shapes/sizes?
