Wax..

To me, the Mona Lisa is about emotion..not just expression.

Da Vinci was a master draftsman first..and then an artist second.

With this masterpiece, he transcended a mere (technically perfect) drawing and established something else.

For all that choose to see it..he created a drawing first and foremost..but he generated a feeling as well. An emotion..the one you get when someone smiles at you.

Abstract noun..rather than a common one.

Or should I say, one noun..in addition to another. ...a further dimension (and feeling) is therefore added.

It was the Dadaists that chose fame by using an unoriginal work to claim some 'other' aspect of individuality. And to go the 'mo' onto Ms Lisa.

Back street stuff. They are time-framed, whereas Da Vinci is not.

On topic however...

Didn't you read Jon Manns' post about spirals and pressure? He said something that I always wanted to..

That clever bottom design is all about subtle increases in pressure..simply making the water go where you want..all with pace but with minimal consequence.

To my point (answer)..

Spirals in shortboards can suck their tails over a layer of air (like an Ice-Hockey puck at speed..or at least it feels like it) purely due to the shortness of the board..whereas Spirals in longer boards lose this suck due to the amount of rail and bottom in the board controlling the later stages of the turn.

The sheer rail length (assuming curve) and increased tail lift will demand it.

( I am so talking about a board being manoeuvred..not going straight)

It's the old suck and release trip..live and let live.

Remember to breathe in..but remember to breathe.......(ouch)......and that was a poor excuse at phonetics.

:)
