Just heard some news today. It seems that someone from the USA approached Australian foam manufacturers about purchasing blanks and the American rep was told to f*&^ off and get back on the plane.

and he wasn't the only one..

in fact, one company has received two offers of sale this week alone
$30M+
and they were told to f@%k off as well

so much for Australian diplomacy (read loyalty to our local market..I trust)

I'm sure they are..
Because EVERYWORD in our industry in the past week has been about your own..
This is the absolute BIGGEST issue in world surfing that I (personally) have ever experienced
And it is impacting you guys the most..

I know that there will be an answer..and it will take an American to do it
For the sake of the small-time US shapers, artists, laminators, sanders and everyone else..I so hope that it doesn't take too long

Lucky Lucky Lucky !!!
I am so lucky! Last month my wife said that she wanted to buy me a new kneeboard for Christmas and that I should shop around and order what I wanted. I called Ron Romanosky and he made me a board. The board got shaped, glassed, and packaged and is on the way to my door in time for Christmas.
Then Clark Foam goes belly up and things get crazy.
I am getting the last Ron Romanosky kb that was made before everything went crazy because of Clark Foam.
......
Makes me wonder how shapers in the future are going to like imported Chinese foam blanks?

I suppose the negative Australian response is exactly what the US said to Ozzie foan manufacturers when they tried to import into the US a few years back.
I remember having a lot of discussions about surfboard technology back in the 1970's when I was working in the enviro field. I'm surprised its lasted this long.
