Hi Techno
Hi Techno and others.
I joined the forum recently and am sifting through some of the old posts. This one interested me as I usually surf Kawana with my standup mates, and haven't seen another kneelo recently on the north coast.
Spindrift Street has been our favourite bank recently, a nice little wave machine in smaller stuff. We've bumped into another Firey (footboarder)there a couple of times a while ago. We work for the QPS on the Northside and generally head up the coast for a surf after nightshift when we can.
I'm really enjoying this site, and hope to catch up with a few like minded souls some time. Obviously there are a few of us out there, with a lot of water in between.
Stay safe.

There is definatly a crew in Qld, there always has been of course and there still is today. Steve Thomas ex Sydney Kneelo lives at Wurtulla and surfs Kawana ect is trying to get the club back together- they recently had a bit of a gathering and bbq at his place. Stewy Irwin who has won the Aussie circuit in the past is also on the Sunshine Coast and surfs with Steve, Craig Ashdown who has won Pro-ams in the past also surfs on the Sunshine Coast.
Scott Finney who surfs the Goldy is involved with surfing Qld is another banana bending kneelo. Ill get Steve Thomas or Stewy to reply to this subject the next time they are having a gathering or planning anything.
The Qld. Pro-am was such a great contest during its time and it is a shame that in the aftermath of the World Titles the organised side of kneeboarding kind of unravelled in Qld- however, of course it never stoped. Of course I havnt mentioned Marcus Hague who is probably the best kneelo to come out of the Sunshine Coast in the last decade he rips.

Marcus
Hi DK,
Not one to let technicalities get in the way (meaning me)...but as a young lad from Sydney (meaning you) I just had to let you know that Marcus..on top of being a bull#*it surfer is, actually from..well.. Sydney.
He drew inspiration from guys like Nov and Simon..
And haven't we all.
Marcus then did the second most intelligent thing..he moved.
Regards from 2099 (meaning Zip)

Marcus has always been a shredder, I remember him winning the World Schoolboys Kneeboard Titles in the late 80's maybe early 90's. Surfed against him a couple of times at 2002 worlds, man he is a competitiive bugger when he is in your heat. Does anyone remember the heated discussion come punch up between Marcus and Darren Gibbs at the worlds 2002, I was in that heat, the words in the water where very interesting to say the least
