I have 2 sets.
They are fantastic for making board feel smaller or more responsive. You know those days where the paddle and the drops are kinda heavy, but the rest of the wave is playful, so you want to ride a bigger board (in my case a 6'3" Blast Aussie Tri) but you don't want to feel overgunned when the wave backs off and lets you hit it?... Those are the days for the curve fins. Rode them all over Indo.
I have just been experimenting with the FCS 3D Keel fin, and I hate to say it, but I think it's a bust. On a kneeboard, the lift and stability the fin gives you actually works AGAINST the rocker of the board (Which is SO important on a kneeboard) and makes the board feel kinda dead. Holds and planes well, but the board looses it's responsiveness. Might be great in huge scary waves where just want your board to hold in and go fast.

Rich “Toby” Pavel designed a curved & canted quad fin setup that is now being produced by LokBox. That’s what you see on Hynson’s fish in the gallery.

Mandala making a copy of the Pavel design. Takes special cant and angle for the "turbo fin" he says. I'm getting one any week now. Will report.
