spongergonkneelo...have you seen The Inside?.....one of the best bodyboardingvideos of all time.......it has some seal in there....(when they throw bread into the shorebreak from the pier to get seagulls to dive for it only to get slammed by the wave.....that bird got barreled.
I guess it was fate that i broke the keel fin today becouse right afterwards i was sponging Peak Of Death and had a 5 second barrel...hands down the best wave of my life.......8' high and throwing at least 5 feet in front of me ........square........along with 9 other in-n-outs......beutiful day....empty lineup

eh hum
well so i fixed a couple dings with 8 ounce yesterday...so thick that when you start sanding it totally clears up...you would never have known there were dings there.....so could i glass those keels(trash the quad idea) on with 8 ounce?...i have so much of it and am trying to save money to buy a roll of 4 oz s-glass and a gallon of epoxy rez....so i figure ill buy a big ding-all sanding resin tub for now and fix that 5'2 so i can get it back to my friends dad.(hes in no rush as he doesnt surf anymore but i feel ive had it for long enough.).so would it work ?? could i do it with 2,?3,?4,? layers on each side?

glass on fins
I agree with beeline 8oz seems like over kill and more work sanding later. I have used one strand of fiberglass rope or equivilent of 6oz
fiberglass unwoven on each side of the fin. Then two layers of 6oz one 2" wide x length of base of fin. second 3" wide x length of base of fin
The final layer of 6oz glass is cut a 1/2" larger than profile of fin with about 2" more on bottom. I hope you can understand this.
Ive used this method ever since I was taught it. Iv'e never had a fin failure due to fin lay up. Coral reefs and fist are another thing.
The last time I used this system of lay up was on quad boomerang fins
no sign of stress yet.

Sorry didnt know its an epoxy board I'm not really sure on that.
I have only used epoxy with fiberglass to repair those plastic
motorcycle fairings. Resin didnt stick (adhere)to those things.
Is there a difference between fiberglass cloth and fiberglass rope?
You could use the the strands from the cloth your using if thats compatible with the epoxy
