fin positions for quad
Posted: Mon Jan 30, 2006 1:56 pm
I am have taken the fins off one of my boards with the intention of changing from a tri to a quad.
Reason?
I have never ridden a quad and there seems to be much discussion on this site regarding the differences, so want to find out for myself.
The board is an aussie style tri, 5'11" x 23" swallow,
side fins 17" up, 1 1/4 " in from rail
Toed 1/4" and cant 6 degrees.
Trailer fin at 9".
Would any of you quad guys mind taking a tape measure to your boards and giving me a starting point for the quad fin set up.
Most interested in:
distance from tail (rear of fins)
distance from rail and centre line.(rear of fins)
Toe and cant.
I have made a couple of pairs of fins, front fins 4 3/4" foiled one side
Rear fins 3 3/4" foiled both sides.
Any help would really be appreciated and will get me back in the water much quicker.
Cheers
Mark
