Simon Farrer's new website

Post by Sparrow »

I've been working on this website for a while now & thought it was time to let everyone know about it.
www.simonfarrer.com.au
Its an ongoing process & will be updated regularly as new photos & information become available.
There are a few areas that are not finished but all in due time.
Hope you enjoy some of the contents & I'm working with Don to have a link available on the KSUSA home page.

Cheers :D

Simon

ps. Special thanks goes to Max Loftus who has been encouraging & supportive to get this off the ground. Fellow Kneelo

Another good site...Good job, especially like the tech stuff.Board-helmet camera gear.Must present a few problems with weight distribution and board stability, not to mention a chunk of metal in front of you.!

Appears you may be kneeling back abit on the 6'2''to adjust for camera weight? What's the weight of the nose camera?

Special boards?..

cheers...the question man :)

Thanks everyone :D

K-Man
Your questions are right on the pulse mate
The weight does present some degree of adjustment (minimal) & to counter this problem I will be using my longer boards such the 6'3" & 6'10" both having a bit more volume.
The weight of the complete mount\housing is about 3kg. or 5lbs
Danger :!:
Yes :!: there is obvious danger involved with having this in front of you & its inevitable we will meet  but the results I hope to get will be worth the risks. Thats how I feel anyway :!:
Hope everyone comes & visits me in Hopital
The position of the mount does not change my position on the board at all. The most important research for me was making sure that I dont have to change the way I naturally surf (with in reason), style or position on the board.
The boards have been prepared by Bruce Hart & it has been a sad :( & scary  process as this is trial & error. Watching 3 boards all of which are in perfect condition been routed & fin boxes placed in the decks of these boards has been emotional :(
The strength is a concern :!: but without trying nothing will be gained
Thanks for your interest K-man
Steeno's :!:
Nothing was harder for me than pushing the go button to add the photos of me (taken by my son Liam 5yrs) mate
I love being behind the camera not in front :!:
Steeno, how bigs ya head :?:
Hope I can fit the helmet cam\ Gath onto your mellon & watch you go to town mate
Got some insane footage of a few waves thismorning out at Cowries from inside the barrel :P :D
M.Foxman
Dont worry about the log in section of my site. Thats just for me
I'm not wanting to take anything away from this amazing site so if any coments are required they can be put onto this forum etc.
Whilst I'm on here I might as well mention the people that are coming on the next film adventure :!:
Steen Barnes Aus
Gavin Colman Aus
Me  Aus
Gigs Celliers South Africa
Barry Baker USA
Bill Lerner USA
Robert OToole USA
& last but not least George Blair USA
Should be one hell of a trip.

Sparrow :D

Dorje :!:
this is what I was talking about when i said I would be back in contact in a few days. The answer to your question is in "about us" on my site!

Sign me up, Simon, for the video that comes out of that fantastic trip with such a great surfing crew! The helmet and board cam shots should be amazing. Maybe afterward you can swap stories GG about what it was like for him getting tied up in a wipeout with all the camera gear he was using in Innermost Limits, Crystal Voyager, etc.

Awesome site. Great photos. Loved the Maile Point shots and the one of Parkes on the macker at Sunset!

Beautiful site Simon! How are those shots of David Parkes at Sunset? The man charges! The equipment looks like you're going to get some amazing perspectives. Have you seen My Eyes Won't Dry by Brian Conley? Great footage, I tried to get a hold of him but no such luck.As we all can see you've done a great job by yourself. Good work, can't wait to give it a go! Bill

Thanks for your support Scott
Wouldn't that be an interesting conversation with GG
There are lots more photos to be added to the Maile point session & for the whole Nth Shore section for that matter.
Dave Parkes shots at sunset are cool :!: & so is his surfing ability.
I asked Dave to come on this trip but he had to pull out due to family commitments.
Bill :)
Hows it all coming along mate :?:
I have seen "My Eyes Won't Dry" & very helpful to me. Its important to not show to much of this perspective :!:
I cant wait till we meet up at Padang mate. Hope your head fits my helmet if not we can transfer it to your helmet :?: You bringing one :?:
Thanks for the kind words mate & will speak soon
