Anybody riding a twinzer?
Just curious. I've been looking back thu the posts, seems like a lot of quad talk (four equal sized fins) but nothing on twinzers (two small canards ahead of the twins). I got a 6'2" KG twinzer, EPS/epoxy, shaped by LarrMo this summer. The board freakin flies, and turns on a dime. Can't believe the speed and improvement over my 70's Lis clone fish on stability and turning radius.

Been there done that............early 80's.
Made several and didn't seem any better than a well designed twin fin (twin fin meaning large upright fins ala MR style template).
BTW.........
I believe it was John Ware of Friar Tuck Kneeboards Sydney Australia who made the first boards with that setup down under.
Any Aussies can confirm that?
Wait.....................
I've got David Parkes sitting downstairs, I'll ask him...........
Correction:
Peter Ware was the guy, about 80-81.

I know, I'm way behindthe times. But it's a gem. BTW, my early 80's MR twin was a total pig (still have it). No cant on the fins (STAR System), the beard was really slow and sticky until it got way overhead..

K-Man,Yep, it's sold as a standup, I got it small enough for me to knee. Fins are pretty well back, with channels as well. I plan to play with some smaller fins to loosen it up while kneeing- I like to pull off sideslips in some sits. I probably do the opposite from most guys- I knee in our small zippy East coast tubes, only start to stand when it gets well OH because of my large size. So, I'm not asking for too much other than speed when I knee.

Hey Weirdo, you got a bottom shot? (of the board)
Another Parkes Twinzer...from the 80's.
about 5'6"; a bit too loose for me even with the fins set back

J.mel built me three twinzers KB's back about 91-92.They all had the fins right on the tail.trailing edge of the twinzer fin was 9'' up from the tail, and 7/8''off the rail
The small single tab fin was 14-1/2'' up and 1-1/4 in off the rail and slightly more toed in.Very stable and fast, and on waves that needed straight out speed, they were great.
Hard to turn though, wrecked my arms a few times having to pull the board around.
cheers
