Great idea, this is a definite goer and clearly the work of an aquanautical genius!

The board looks like it is very fun to ride. Keep us posted on how it does in different size surf. I love your out side the box thinking and after seeing your board I did get a crazy idea, so here is a thought for all to consider. How do you think two of the star fins would work on a twin fin fish? Would it help hold in the twiney and make it less sketchy on turns or just bog it down? What do you guys think? Love to here your opinion. Cheers TC

long ago I had a small centre with a small flat wing

Image - Image

was probably my favourite board from the past
but I don't think it had much to do with the wing
I did keep it on the board ... but ... it was just for show ...

The FCS does look to be larger in the wing so there may be more effect

Looks kinda similar.

As you say, I don't think the wing makes as much difference as you'd think (or as it's marketed to).

I actually had this board made as the meater surf cousin to a fat mush fish. I then needed to sell the fish thanks to being skint and stuck this on in the hope it'd get the board going in smaller surf.

It did as it turns out but when I got down to the beach on the firt day to try it out it was well overhead and I realised I'd left my usual centre fin at home

It was pretty classic though so out I went and was amazed to find the board held much better higher up the face, had a lot more drive, went round sections like a dream an wasn't notably stiffer. In fact, up on the rail the fin seems to drive through the turn more.

The only down side is that I can't seem to pull face spins anymore, although I've given up trying so it might be worth looking back at now I've had more time with the board.

I'm guessing it's really mess things up. Sides are toed in and cambred so you'd have so many foils in so many different directions... Makes my head hurt just thinking about it! :?

You never know... Could turn out to be a proper rocket ship!!!

Alot of people over here are riding 5 fins at the mo, some even go to 6!

I'm more of a thruster man although there are plenty better than me riding these crazy porcupine thingies!

Gray - I'm moving there mate! Can't run the place down it's going to be my local!

Yes Albert, I wonder exactly what a modern single fin would look like, and go like.

Have to say the last time I rode any kind of single was a stand up Lazor Zap ex Pam Burridge in about er...1986....

Have never ridden a single fin kneeboard.
all the best,

Scotty

Had quite a gruntsome swell today and for the first time found the board felt a bit corky. Think plan A is in order, Red Tip for up to head high, straight forward middle fin for O/H up.

I've lost a bit of weight too which could be a contributing factor I think.
