What works & what doesn't and in what type of conditions. Got a "secret" only you and your shaper know???? Post it here... we can keep it quiet ;-)

ahh.....two of my three favourite detractors :!:

dy...as art teacher to 650 students, let me just say that..... art has no quality until its in the eye of the beholder

even then its mere opinion.

000

the phrase "...on topic..." is full of angst...

i just thought id argue the idea of no angst on this thread

but perhaps the argument is too subtle

ps..hows that 6'5" flashie gun going for $320 on ebay (ridden about ten times) you sydney siders are too lucky when comes to pre loved boards.
The thing about a flashpoint is that you can be sure of the shapers intentions (in general) so as a unsurfed preloved purchase, there a safe bet

i should keep saving

Before this thread becomes to quote Scott Mac "Train wreck" we should get it back "on topic"...

I saw bruce made a quad fin in the Board section...... did seeing some of the other boards at Santa cruz give you any new ideas for some new sticks?.....

Off topic...
Dorje...did you think that if you made a few "mates" on here you could have bought that Flashy gun and one of you sydney kneelo "mates" could have picked it up for you and sent it down..... Karma works in mysterious ways...

Now back to the boards...

After talking to Matty today, I had to respond to your question :D

Chris..for sure, Santa Cruz could do nothing but impress :!:

And that impression came home with both me and Matt (and many others)

There is only a couple of weeks before the Bendalong Beach Pro-Am 07

And Matty may go Back-To-Back if his (new little) Santa Cruz Sentinal continues to deliver

just like the morning mail

Maybe should have started a new post for this one...

But wanted to ask bruce how he came up with his logo and how many times has the logo morphed since he started shaping?.

I have an old late 80's Flashpoint which what seems a very old version of the logo.... Has Hot Buttered Logo on it aswell....

Cheers

Chris the first time I drew that logo, it took me 3 full days of hand-drafting to generate the colour-seperated artwork :(

It came from a desire to create something with movement..

see flashpoint definition below

I have an old late 80's Flashpoint which what seems a very old version of the logo.... Has Hot Buttered Logo on it aswell....

Cheers

Hot Buttered has long supported kneeboarders and I have been involved jointly with HB/TF over many years

the logo itself was first drawn 1985 and has undergone possibly 7 morphs (all now with CAD assistance  )

Coca-Cola Skysurfer TV Commercial 1992

This TV Advertisement had the highest amount of International exposure of any Aussie produced commercial..and featured guys jumping out of aeroplanes strapped into 'skysurfer' boards :D :D and skysurfing down to the ground to grab a coke

I had the opportunity to build those boards for Coke (with the assistance and advice of Terry Fitzgerald) and they responded by featuring the Flashpoint Surfing exploding logo device on all the advertising material (and boards, of course :) )

hmmmm, thinking this through to the surfing application, the 'flash' point is not at the 'bottom' b/c the vapor has risen above the liquid to a point higher than the bottom...where the ignition occurs. Got it! 8)
