Hi bongoman
I do not know where you live... but if you are in Cal., and do not have anything lined up yet... Dean Cleary makes a board (Quest) for smaller, mushier waves. He'll make one for your weight, size, etc. I have one... it's great in small surf. You can check out his site at: deanclearysurfboards.com and go to the kboard section. Also... if you can get to a gathering, you could maybe try some different boards. If you do not live in Cal.... just ignore this post  Best of luck. A tip: NOTHING beats having the right equipment for your size, abilities, and type of waves you'll be surfing.

Is there such a thing as a small wave kneeboard, for weak, mushier waves? What would it look like for someone of my height and weight?

WHY???

JUST DRINK A FEW BEERS, THEN BODYSURF SHORE BREAK INSTEAD.

WAY MORE BARRELS

My 6'0' x 22 3/4 five fin rocks in 18" waves. I am continually amazed how quickly the board planes and how loose it is in smaller, weaker waves. Plus it smokes as a standup board.

I'm 6'4" 200lbs and ride a 5'8"x24" PigFish from Flashpoint... stoopid fun.

My regular board is a 6'2" or 6'3" Tri up to a 6'9", but nothing beats that little biscuit when it's below chest high.
Catches waves like a longboard... flys all over the place in absolute crap.
Love it.
