Fin Placement (again !)

What works & what doesn't and in what type of conditions. Got a "secret" only you and your shaper know???? Post it here... we can keep it quiet ;-)

Quick one , when people talk about for example , the rear fin being 9 in from the tail , am i correct in assuming that this is to the rear of the fin ?
