Too weird!!!
McKnee, all one would have to do is read a thread on this site, almost any thread would do, and have to expect it's gonna go sideways somehow. I don't think we scared him off, he's probably just waiting for someone to give some insight on duck diving a kneeboard while wearing flippers.( Wouldn't mind hearing from some people on that subject mice elf). Anyone? Anyone?

duckdiving with fins on is easier than without, first off don't stop paddling forward , drive as long as possible put your hands at about the front third of the board, either 1 knee or both at the tail, and use the speed / momentum you kept up to get the board under, once it is under take your knees off and use your fins to drive deeper, once thethe main blast is past ,pull the nose up and the hydraulics of the wave will do the rest.
SIMPLE, ISN'T IT 8)

Hey, this is weird! I do just about the same as maxb, the only thing I'd add is that timing is really important. If you get the timing right it's super easy as the down-force of the turbulence can help you get deep due to the greater width of your board. Bad timing will work against you for the same reason. A little wax out on the rails where your hands go helps too.

Did you look at this?

Similar to above I think but some interesting ideas on angling the board.

Nice to have several clubs in the bag depending on the conditions. Last weekend, head high wind slop had a blast on the mat, yesterday, glassy, rode the KB. Now I just need something for those d@mn sand traps.

Hey Cappy, I reckon things started going wrong about where the golf analogies started creeping in.

Anyway, I was standing on a wharf today, looking at some work, thinking it's about time I got some paddling practice in, not to mention doing some work on refining my duck-diving technique, seeing how as I haven't surfed since the end of February, and that got me thinking ... if I leave it any longer I'll have regressed to full-on newbie status. Man, what would Uncle Fester do?

Think I'll just go wax my flippers or something ...
