Sorry MB - all's fair in love and ebay :D

I have been trying to ween myself of my old board buying habits (i haven't bought one in 18 months) but the pick up is literally down the road from my work - too convenient not to have a stab.

I'll let u know whether it was a bargain or overpriced - hopefully the former ...... t's not until u pick it up that u find out

well i'm stoked and it was a bargain :D

top is about an 8.5/10 and the bottom about a 7/10.

the fins are old - but probably not original.

bit of damage to the end of one of the swallows but not unexpected. should be a job even i can do

has a series of stickers on the botttom which i'm just going to peel off. but the "Jet" sticker got me thinking... Steve A - did u have a connection to the Jet label - or am I mistaken??

she'll clean up nice 8)

twin fins

Post by stevea »

hi J D C and congratulation Xmas
J D C . I find i have to agree with you at the time i shaped and designed my boards for North Narrabean before buying a $50,000 house at Umina close to my next favourite lefthander O B Box ive had an inclination to go left(backhand) all my surfing life ,but enjoy right hand breaks once i get the knees to realise which way im going ,however after seeing the photo of the board on ebay i realise what a limiting factor fin boxes were ie as far a getting fins as close to the the rail and what about the parallel setting no toe in or camber what was i thinking ,hindsight is a wonderful thing

Xmas i did have a short connection with Jet i went up to Bryon (1980or 81) to look at shaping & sanding boards there i cant remember shaping any though but must have i was fluting the wings and was shaping double concave bottoms ,but i think this must have been a custom order cause i had an aversion to deep swallow tails and the color green ,the fins were mostly multi laminates of 3-4 colors wide base upright and flexed top 3rd ,hope ive been of help
