the problem is lightweight eps, alot of shapers drop structural foam squares in the board before routing out the boxes......(loses most of the beneficial lightweight of an eps blank)
or .. use FCS Fusion plugs in 2 ib.......
or ... inlay short wooden stringers diagonally to the plug area before routing....
But im sticking with Futures fin boxes simplicity and upholding reputation...
I havnt had any box failures yet, even with my last board where I forgot to glue(3m marine) the box in place before glassing, 4 sessions later and my center fin jiggles almost an inch side to side but still water tight
