helms a lee

aloha all, the steering system is a very important aspect to your ride.
there is always an analogy to some aquatic species when designing a fin for a wave riding board. there is the marlin tail, the tuna tail, the dorsal fin of the porpoise. the manatee tail, the mermaid tail, etc, infinitum.
i contend that the porpoise TAIL is a very good study in wave riding style. not the shape but the fact that the tail is the main steering device of the porpoise and that its horizontal attitude into the face of the wave gives incredible control similar to sea lions and other sea mammals that RIDE waves.
i invite you to view a review at

the surf has been fun in front of the wave observation tower.
