I was wondering what would make a good beginner kneelo to try my hands at shaping.
I am 6'4" 260 lbs and surf a lot of the south orange county breaks.
I was considering either a crosier slab styled board or a fish.
I was thinking of a board about 6'4" 23 to 24 at the waist 2 3/4 to 3" thick eps or xps many a door skin lam on top in lee of a stringer back cut keels in the up configuration.
1. Nose flat or slight belly?
2. Rail consideration 50/50 to a harder edge at the tail or 60/40 with a bit of an edge line on the under side?
3. A pair of back cut keels or quad with channels between?
4. Belly flat or slight concave?
5. Tail flat or slight v? also how thin to leave some flex?
6. Rocker 4" in the nose and 2" in the tail???
What are your thoughts on a good starter board to start out on and to shape.
Thanks in advanced and hang lose.

Keep the stoke and may all of the waves in your life line up like corduroy.

Funny thing you mentioned Paipo. I just read an article about a guy that shapes and rides Paipo's with the measurements of 28 to 30 inches in width and about 6 foot long usually twin fin. The idea is you can ride larger surf with out stalling in the dead spots and the ability to lift the swim fins out of the water to lessen the drag. This is very tempting. It beats my spunger board that I cant make a bottom turn on to save my life in waves under 4 ft. A crosier slab shape would make a tempting easy board to shape. Quad fin to ad insanity to the mix!!???
