two piece bisecting kneeboard

I'm thinking of a winter project of building a bisecting kneeboard for travel as board fees have just gotten ridiculous.

Has anybody here made an attempt at this? I've never seen a bisecting board in person but see online that a few techniques to achieve this goal are being utilized for longboards.

Any thoughts, guidance, recommendations?

I looked up several multi-piece travel boards and each time these ding-dongs bisect the board in the middle, not too smart. A three piece board with the center intact is a much better idea. separate the nose and the tail at least behind the forward fins. Leave the highest stressed areas as one piece.

62'' and under is considered regular luggage.So.....If your KB is 6'(72'')and you have a removable nose (10'')your at regular luggage...no charge...maybe.Seems that may be the most feasible method...and possibly the strongest..if done properly.One of you geniuses out there should be able to pull it off.Even if you lose the nose,it's still rideable.
The issue may be the board bag....Is that a surfboard?No...... :lol:Might have to remake an easy to handle case that could handle two boards...Sounds complicated,but if you trave a bunch...might be worthwhile.

I have seen that some airlines need the board to be 5 ft and under.
Something along the lines of the Walden Tri Fold might be great.
