Hi I was exploring the possibility of getting a Kneeboard made in South Africa
Current Rand exchange rate looks very favourable to import one
Does anyone know of any brands but especially of any good shapers out there that specialise in making kneels's??
Any contacts and e-mail addresses would help
Any members of in this forum from South Africa??
looking forward to contacting someone out there and any help would be much appreciated

If you can get a hold of Gigs Celliers one of the elite. he could definitely point you in the right direction. I here he is even thinking about opening his own surf shop too.

just a thought ...you can find him on facebook might be a start....

Good luck...Nothing like the joy of a new board

Hi Kneerider
I just saw this post now.
There are a few standups who shape a kneeboard now and again in South Africa, but as far as I know I am the only kneelo who rides and shapes kneeboards. I work closely with Gigs and shaped his US title winning board, a board that he and I worked on specifically for the conditions on that side. Gigs is a unique talent can make any board look great under him, but his board design knowledge is extrodinary, and can tell you how a board will surf in secounds by looking at it. It was a great collaboration and I hope to do more for him soon.
I have been shaping for 5 years and kneeboarding for 30, and this year am sending boards to Australia to open that market. I would be keen to do the same for the US. It is best to send a couple of boards at a time to split the courier fees and I am looking to put together a shipment of 5 boards. I am looking for a point of contact that side to send the boards and deliver locallu, if you know anyone.
Regards
Mike
