Hello Everyone,
Congratulations to those of you who competed in the recent contest at Huntington Beach. Sounds like a good time was had by all. I just wanted to let you know that I've written a couple of books. Palangi in Paradise is about my experiences as a Peace Corps volunteer in Tonga. The Seasons of California is about growing up among the coasts and mountains of the West Coast of the U.S. Both contain short stories, a few of which you may already have read. While neither is completely about surfing, the ocean and riding waves are a major part of each. If you're interested in getting a copy of one or both of them, just google www.lulu.com, then go to ShopBooks--Lulu, then search by title or by using my name (just Phil Curtiss).
I'm definitely stoked to be back home. One thing I learned from my experience in Africa is that I can't be away from the ocean for long. Here's hoping we'll get the chance to surf together sometime soon. All the best.
Phil

Sounds about right for someone who has kneeboarded MavericksBob wrote:Saw Phil out, in town the other day.
Sat way outside and only went on the big ones...
I hope someone gets back out there and rides a kneeboard at Mav's again. With Dorian and crew making barrels standing up, think of the possibilities on a kneeboard! (Just be ready to hold your breath for a really, really, really long time if you don't make it out of the tube.)
dropkneeing is a sin...isn't it?
