Thanks quadfin
Its ironic to, that when I smashed my knee, it was not until two years later I found I had compressed two vertebrae in my upper back from the same accident. what a fun trip, after hours of surfing this can put me on my back for a day. its all good though

That is such an inspirational story. Plus you still keep doing damage to yourself, then drag yourself back out there.
I am never going to complain about one of my injuries again!
Keep it up
Cheers

I was there on the day this happened - and was right next to Steen when they brought him in - vomitting all sorts of green foam. They had a medic crew there really quick and cut his wetsuit off and started work on him. People were freaking out everywhere. I couldn't help at all, and people were walking over his board and gear. So I grabbed his board went up and put it with mine, and went to get his other beach gear - only to find (from memory) it had all been stolen. (It just wasn't ur day, Steen!). Before we knew it Steen had been flown away and we all just looked at each other, peakin' out. Anyway, next time I see Steen - about a year later - he's got a huge scar and is rippin' the place apart. "Friggin' hell," I thought, "what is ever gonna stop this guy?" Champion!!!

Wow, it's so cool when these old threads come up - it reminds me of what an amazing place this website is.
Steen - I never knew this story - just the leg you told me about - you're an inspiration mate! The world would be a much, much poorer place without the stoke you've provided, and will continue to provide!
Life is a funny thing...
