With the averge age of the kneeboarder these days this area should be used to post issues on health matters (surfer's ear, knee surgery, stretches, etc).
anybody tried glucosamine for bad knees? Apparently its all natural with a bit of fish product thrown in.
Just started myself on a course....this and emu oil,... which kinda reminds me off the stuff id find on my hand as a sex starved teenager I just ca'nt work out how the emus got it in the bottle and did they need porn Friends assure me its not what it looks like
anyway im told results should show with 2 to 4 weeks regarding the glucosamine
Im also putting my leggie on the left leg as the recent trouble started after 3 days of solid surf a few weeks back when time was spent getting trashed and having my body go one way and the board the other and the knee being yanked the wrong way
Only experience I've had has been positive but non human.
I used gluecosomine for my 12 y/o Black Lab/Dalmatian mix dog for his rear hips. Definite improvement. Also used with Arabian horses many years ago and that seemed to work also.
I've had very good luck with the glucosamine and chondoitrin joint compounds. You can find them on any of the bodybuilding supplement websites, at a very good price. I recommend www.bodybuilding.com. Don't know if they ship to Oz, tho
Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate seems to be working well on my arthritic left knee. I've been using it for about 4 months. It took about a month and a half to notice results. I get mine at Costco ( their own Kirkland brand.) About $20 for a 3 month supply. Consumer Reports says it's the best product at the best price. Does contain crab, crayfish, lobster, prawn and shrimp. Goes down well with beer.
Tore my miniscus pretty severe several years ago.Turned out to be a simple tear. The vitamin thrapy was essential
Also wore a knee brace. They are lightweight soft nylon, with a hole where the kneefits.
Stabilizing the area with pressure allowed me to continue surfing, with no discomfort, and the brace fit nicely under the wetsuit.
Took about three months for full recovery[no brace]will continue the vits.
i have had really good results with Glucosamine and my leg joints. My aunt works for a arthroscopic surgeon as a RN and she gave me a couple bottles of Glicosamine Sulfate by VitaMedica. She said they give it to all their patients,
See a doctor. If you have done repairable dammage. tha doc will let you know. Yes the Glucosamine helps / works. Stretching and rest.look at the time factor. Wll taking a week off surfing. be worth being able to still surf five years from now. Listen to your body it will tell you what is working. When you feel better work out bike ride. Cycleing is low - no inpact strength building that is great for knees.
To do what I want to do
I have to do what have to do
The Glucosamine definitely works. My 93 year old Dad has just been taken off high impact aerobics at The YMCA and he is pissed. He has been using "Joint Juice" for years. Just added MSM to my Gluc and seems to be working.
Glucosamine and Chondroitin will work for some and not for others. One of the previous posters already mentioned that it may take 4-6 weeks to see results.
