With the averge age of the kneeboarder these days this area should be used to post issues on health matters (surfer's ear, knee surgery, stretches, etc).
Bingtang, I too am a native.Grew up in Pt.Loma and surfed the cliffs until I got my license then surfed La Jolla. Thank You for the shower @ Ladera st I have used it many times. The fellow I need the B.S. buzzer for is my friend who lived in Gisborne in the 70s'. He taught at an all boys school although I don't know which one. Thank You for the offer to show me around, have to take a raincheck though I took my girl and my daughter to Costa Rica for 2 weeks earlier this year, 5 days later I went to Oahu for a month, so I'm still owned by Visa, at least till January.
Go get some waves it should be morning there right

Hey Geno, where'd you go to school? I grew up in Clairemont so it was Clairemont High class of 67 (or would have been if I'd made it to graduation, once I discovered the surf it was all over for schooling). My early days were spent in the PB Point area (before the Tourmaline car park was built). Man, those Kanaka's surf club guys looked 10' tall when I was a grom. Then south mission jetty for at least 10 years and then the cliffs for the last 15 years in SD, now down here for almost 4 years. I used to get down to Black's, there were some really good kneelos surfing there. Two brothers were part of that crew I believe, they ripped! see ya, Bob
WOW Bingtang, You ARE old I went to Uni and was in the class of 74.
The Huffman brothers were the school celebs Mark and Rex. I remember looking through Surfer mag during spanish class ( they used to run pix of kneelo's back then ) and asking Rex if he made a particular wave, can you say distraction
Gene, we aren't supposed to get much swell this week so you timed your self inflicted well heal up nextweek there is some decent stuff headed our way or so says wet scam I got the same s as bingtang whats your bio

OK Rooster, I might be gettin' up there but I got Rocky's Surf Racks on my walker... AND when I do face plants all that wattle under my chin acts as a stabilizer just like the fins on a shark... so.... hey, that was I talkin' about .... my wife just got back from her morning run and sez it's head high down at the Gisborne Pipe....see ya
While it was flat up here this weekend I picked up a mask and snorkel and did some diving in the local kelp beds. It is amazing how much life there is within a 100yds of the beach that you'd never know about without diving. Go figure I see the birds, sea lions, and dolphins regularly snacking off my local beach. Luckily it is rare to see whities snacking the sea lions down here, though it did happen within 20 miles about a year ago.
I don't think I'll ever be up for chasing bugs (aka Pacific Spiny Lobster), but I do think I could get into spearing some rockfish for dinner. I'll get a pole spear once I can confidently dive to the bottom to retrieve it after I miss!
Kava, you do any aquatic hunting, or just on land?
"we took a trip to garden grove..it smelled like lou dog inside the van"oh yea.
....yep garbage grove does have sewage problems...always has since i can remember.....
,..jackG...dont let go of your spear!!you dont need to...its for close proximity hunting...like floating above the reef in 12-15 feet of water....id buy a speargun if i hunted in santa barbara...what if you saw a white sea bass!!!
