I was wondering about sunblock myself until recently. I eventally came to discover the Shiseido Sunblock Stick . It's excellent for your face. For lips- any lip balm with SPF over 30 works for me.
The coppertone can get me high if I inhale right after application

Headhunter has a line out now with titanium called "heavy duty". Very waterproof, works goooood. Your side effects may vary.

Hello guys to quote Steen in 2004 "in 20 years we will find sunscreen will actually have caused cancer" well it does according to a lot of evidence out there.
Most of the commercially available sunscreens do not protect for both UVA and UVB .
People seem to be judging a sunscreens effectivness by how long it will stay on , well some of the active ingredients are cancer causing.
Zinc oxide is great as long as it is not in Nano form , titanium dioxide i would be very careful with.
Two of the highest rated sunscreens available today are Sunumbra (kids version SPF 40) made in South Africa and Badger i think a Aussie product.

Terrance , you mentioned some of the active ingredients can cause cancer, can you give us any more info or references . I work outside as a window ad painter and just get roasted. My sixty stitches from removal of two squamus cell cancers on my arm are almost healed and I'm trying extra hard now to protect myself, I'd hate to think my sunscreen may be working against me.

I visited the website in the link you provided. I found it to be misleading - personal anecdote and cherry picking of bits and pieces about chemical toxicity.

Can I suggest this link to a summary of CSIRO's study on sunscreens. They are a highly regarded research institution in Australia.

Shelbreak i just grabbed one of the first articles i Googled for somebody , my opinion is not based on that article alone but it does contain some of the relevant facts.
Take it or leave it most Sunscreens could cause more harm than good in the long run and people should be very careful.
I tossed my Island Tribe Sunscreen based on some of the ingredients.

Thanks for the info Terrance. I'll explore all those different sites and try to steer clear of the stuff that's going to cause harm. Been using Noxema spf 70 from Costco but it makes ya look mighty white and pale, but maybe with the higher SPF values, that's just the way of it. I'll have to give the Bullfrog a go, thanks Fred
