Beach Closure

With the averge age of the kneeboarder these days this area should be used to post issues on health matters (surfer's ear, knee surgery, stretches, etc).

Beach Closure

Post by surfhorn »

Just heard that there is a major sewage spill in the South Bay. The area covers the coast from Manhatten Beach, California to the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Word has it that the closure will extend until Weds. or Thursday.

Keep your head up..........

I surfed on the backside of PV yesterday and the water looked crystal clear. No smell either. The water did look a little brown this morning though.

Oh Yeah... Good Times.
I had been out all morning getting a couple of long fat bombs (and I a lot of double-ups on the head) when the Lieguard Boat pulled up and started screaming at us. With the wind and my earplugs all I heard was:
"Get out of the water! The has been a substantial _______ spill."
Didn't know if it was sewage, medical waste, chemical, or baby great white shark spill till I got to the beach.
Surf looks epic today. Offshore, Headhigh, 3 or 4 of the bars are just firing... and not a soul in the water.

Pismo had a 90,000 gallon sewage spill at Pismo Creek (Sea Venture parking lot) on Jan 1st. Some cases of flu-like symptoms reported: I got pretty sick, I know, I was ready to get Hep "c" shots and whatever but got over it in about a week.

Not recommended.
