Strength and conditioning

With the averge age of the kneeboarder these days this area should be used to post issues on health matters (surfer's ear, knee surgery, stretches, etc).

Smokin

I've edited yours to make iot more generally applicable. Just delete the inappropriate words:
i have a friend who lives in the (city/country/suburbs) and drives a (suv/ute/sedan/motorcycle/bicycle). he's a (longboarder/bboarder/kitesurfer) who belongs to a (gym/church/surf club) (with/without) an escalator AND an elevator and he's known to take every (vitamin and protein supplement/drug/organic food/booze/loose woman) he can get his hands on mostly because he only eats (fast food/lentils/meat/loose women). the more i think about that bastard the madder i become. i think the next time i see him i'm gonna (break a branch off my organic apple tree/grab a crankshaft/pull my gun) and beat him to death with it!

Shalom
Aloha

PS you can swap the he's with she's and women with men, monkeys or marsupials, as required

Some funny humor guys.
Hey Red, ever read a fortune cookie and add the words "In bed" afterwords?
Hey Doc,
I take two fat multi's a day AND have a protein powder drum for morning drinks and often eat protein bars for lunch-snack.
I have read studies that suggest athletes comsume 1 gram of protein for every pound of body weight.
To each his or her own.

Heck with the supplements. I think I'll stick with my daily baby aspirin and a wife who surfs.

This may sound all peace and yogurt but when I stopped eating meat I noticed immediate improvements in weight and health. While this might not relate directly to fitness and conditioning stopping your meat intake will certainly make you feel more lithe and flexible. Similar to the feeling a smoker gets when they give up smoking.

Add to that the fact that most of the meat that we eat is full of steroids, hormones and antibiotics. Becoming a veg is not such a bad idea.

Duane : LOL! That's classic.

I guess you're not too up for the Atkins diet. I like meat and I know lots of folks who are totally sold on this diet. Halfman has lost some serious poundage just since Santa Cruz, and he's looking very trim. I'm all for cutting down on carbs, but I just can't see how anyone in our society can stick to this diet for a lifetime. It's just too extreme, and the cheap foods that are available are breads and rice and potato based. Those I know who've lost weight on this diet but couldn't stick to it long term gained it all back fairly quickly.

I tried vegetarian once, but I like my steaks and chops too much to stick to it. My dog likes it better when I eat meat, too ... LOL!

I tried vegetarian once but you had to cook them with too much salt and they were tough to eat.

So then kneeboarders, perpetually on the endangered species list, must not be impeded in any way on any wave so as to encourage their numbers to multiply.
Makes sense to me

Beeline, I have to weigh in and say "You da man!" on this one. The next couple posts are examples of how you end up living if you go dog eat dog. All this is why I mentioned in another thread that I'd rather surf junk alone than thrash around and argue in "perfection" with a crowd. End up not getting many waves and/or having to expend large amounts of energy jockying for position and steering around people rather than enjoying the ride. Just MHO as they say.
