Brain Tumor Update !!!

Well – the holiday is over !!!

Relle had a Stroke last night and I had to call an ambulance to our north coast unit to take her to Nambour hospital.
Tests have shown that the tumor is growing rapidly and that the pressure is building.
This has caused a paralysis down her left side – she still has speech – but slightly slurred. We don’t know how long this will last or if it is permanent – but I think her journey is taking a turn for the worse ???

I had her transported to Brisbane and have her in Logan Hospital Palliative Care Unit until I can get the house set up to take a wheel chair !!!
This was organized by Relle’s boss Christine – Thanx Chris !!!

The kids were woken with a bit of a shock to see mum on the floor with two burly Ambo’s working on her ???
The kids are doing OK and will catch up with her tomorrow morning ASAP.
She will be transferred to the Princess Alexandra Hospital as soon as they can find a bed for her in a Neurological ward ???

I packed and brought the kids home through horrific traffic and took over 3 hours to do a 1.5 hr trip.
We were due to return Saturday – but thought it best to get everyone home – back to reality.

Relle has been totally blind since the day after we arrived in Coolum – so it wasn’t much of a holiday or fun for the kids helping dad walk their blind mum around !!!

We went to Australia Zoo on Wednesday and she had her stroke that night around 1am.
We were supposed to go to Underwater World the following morning for a Seal Encounter and swim with the Seals. This has been canceled – so a fun time wasn’t had by all ???

I will keep you posted to any changes that happen and how Relle’s progress is ???

Lord God, you are awesome in power and gentle in love. You have created the earth, the sea, and all that is in them and your mercy endures forever. We lift up Relle to you and ask for your grace, love, and healing to surround her. Give her a hope and a peace that only you can provide. Help her to trust you in this moment and in each day you give her that your strength will be sufficient for her. Help Techno to be strong in you and to have faith and may the kids be comforted as well. Let there be Joy for the life you have given that family and the love they share. May they draw closer to one another in these times and be reminded to keep their eyes fixed on You!

It is with deep regret for me to pass on the sad news of Rells passing this morning (aussie time)
Tony was by her side and felt that he was at least able to comunicate to her in her last moments and feels at least she now is at peace and in a better place

My heart goes out to you matee and to the kids... and my thoughts are with you

it may be a little while until you get this but I have to say that I send you all of my thoughts right now. I have just spoken to julie about this and mate..if there is anything we can do, we will do it.

Techno, Very sorry to here of Rell's passing. We pray the Lord's Peace, Love, healing and blessing's on you and your Kids. Keep your eyes on Him always.

Well as you can see from Scoop's post that our battle is over !!!

Relle was brave to the last - she fought a hard fight - and we lost.
She was pain free and comfortable when the end came - I was by her side holding her hand - and our children were with us, asleep in another part of the same ward.

I told her of my love for her and of my anger at her being taken from me.
I asked her to watch over me and our children - and to guide me in the decision making that will build our children's future.
Although she had been in a coma for over 2 days - she acknowledged my voice and the things I was saying to her.

I now sit alone at home staring at my computer screen - I feel hollow, cheated, angry & lonely.
I lost my wife - my partner - my lover - my mate - I lost my best friend !!!

Her cremation service will be held this week on Friday 8th Oct at 10.30am, at the Mt Thompson Crematorium at Mt Gravatt.
Those who can make it are welcome to attend.

All we ask for is a single long stem red rose as a floral bouquet.
