They couldn't have picked a better time to go. After two weeks of back to back major swells, the mentawaiis are just about to get CANED by another absoloute beauty of a south swell. (4th and 5th of August) It's killing me that I'm so close to the surf but can't get off work at the moment.

After a dodgy start to the season with weird winds and stuff, the last month has more than made up for it. Check out how what Padang2 was doing last week, delicious!

Can't wait to see the photos when they get back! Nothing like a bit of vicarious living when you're stuck in the kantor...

Post by stevea »

to all ,simon and the crew saders were seen surfing ulus on the 31st and 1st they impressed all including a couple of former and current pros the boys were hyped when i met up with them and later at dinner over a few bintangs we shared some laughs and positive expectations ,in my opinion this movie will eclipse anything weve seen so far no mean feat when all is considered ,they will be headed into the best swell of the year ,hope to obtain some shots of the crew at ulus to wet the apetite

indo trip

Post by barry »

Well,
everyone has made it home safely although Gavin and George
left various amounts of flesh at different locations
Some got home on time and some returned later than expected
some even got stuck with extra fees
Steeno has already begun posting photos (just teasing us with tidbits)
we anxiously await the upcoming barage of photos and film

We surfed with many of the top surfers in the world from
legends like Tom Curren to younger guys like Dane Reynolds.
Heaps of talent over there at the same time made for an inspirational
trip during all of our sessions at various reef breaks.

The Aussies even had a great warm up on Bali scoring solid waves
before joining us on the boat :!:

I am sure that there will be lots of stories and laughs posted after
everyone gets caught up with things at home and work.

Mentawai trip

Barry, Steenos, Bec, Bruce and everyone else who has updated this topic.......A VERY BIG THANKS........let the imagination settle around the pics posted and stories written, something to dwell on, with "mind movies" while waiting in between sets.
This is unreal, getting back into, what I can now call, the sport of kneeboarding with literally a whole world of fellow enthusiasts to converse with about what the stoke of kboarding means to them, the DVD's, the ideas, the technology, the comraderie......look out I'm working myself up into a lather again...... the whole kit and caboodle, this and what has been mentioned in another topic, the blessing of the "minister for war and finance" (sorry love)........its like I've died and gone to heaven.
Anyway like everyone else I'll be waiting with bated breathe for the flick - not to mentions Slats' flick when that gets back into production.

Cheers Wolruss
