he paid for not pulling in watch how he gets sucked over the falls because he didn't penetrate low enough through the wave.

If he grabbed the rail and really pulled on it would he been able to tightened up the bottom turn? pull higher onto the face gain speed and make the section. It must suck to have everyone watch you eat it over and over agian and critique.

wino you once said pull in and hold on until your board is taken away from you. When its big at OB thats my mantra now. It usually saves you a major beating 90% of the time.

Ross is dead on. his tail released at the critical moment. too much plane when pressed and not enough bite.
IMHO a longer board and a pin tail are not the solution. this is exactly what a fish tailed shorter board excels at. handling the power and placing you high and tight where gravity can help you to see the light of day. awesome surf. i won't even get into how big it is  . well overhead 8)

(or perhaps you meant meters  )
Wave height measurement in Australia is much much different than that of the States...

Chris Beresford is an insane kneerider, any one out that day =Respect.
It could be true what everyone has said so far, but Wino pointed out something important. That was his first wave. First waves normally for me are still warm ups, see how my board is gonna ride that day, etc. Therefore, i bet if they cought some more footage of him later that day, he most likely was not sliding about or what have you
Of course i could be completely wrong, i dunno, i was sick that day. :P
Just a thought
-Shaun
-PS-Chris is an amazing kber ...did i mention that already?

Shaun,
absolutely! the only guys that have'nt blown a move in surf that size are the guys that don't paddle out.
kinda nice to play armchair QB though. especially when it's not you.

Hard to tell how big that wave really is. Looks to be shot from up above, usually that makes them look bigger. Maybe 8-10 Hawaiian? It's big for sure but looks kinda soft. The man is charging for sure, though! Needs a board more suited, his warbled out at the bottom. Love, Roger Staubach, team Stratolounger.

Hold off for now, timing is everything. You'll be unchained at the perfect moment, weather models permitting. Or are you just trying to get me over there to shovel some dirt in your backyard?

Oh, look at the unridden wave in the vid. It's kinda top to bottom but not really. Maybe like a break in the Country that's not so well known. I guess with that in mind it is North Shorish. I think there's a still of that one looks waayyy meaner!
