Turning Fifty

http://video.google.com.au/videoplay?do ... 8883829127

turned 50 the other day, as many of us have.

As a present my wife filmed me surfing for three/four sessions - which she hates to do. She did a good job with her still digital camera. Pity the surf was crap but I learnt an awful lot about how I could improve my surfing and that I have a tendency to Parkinsons... heh.

I also enjoyed remixing it. It's a bit tongue in cheek so don't anyone take offence... please.

In the end I made a self centred, egocentric, onanistic, down-the-line homage to all the solitary grassroots kneelos who inhabit this world ..........

Well at least I think I did. Let me know, how you go....

I also know now how to spell Saint Vitus...

PS turn UP the volume

Cheers

as Douglas Adams once wrote:

Quote:
imagine a puddle waking up one morning and thinking, 'This is an interesting world I find myself in, an interesting hole I find myself in, fits me rather neatly, doesn't it? In fact it fits me staggeringly well, must have been made to have me in it!'

but the punch line comes when the the sun rises

good surfing and a thick plot... Bruce Brown would be pleased. 8) You should have wished for epic surf when you blew out those candles bra. Happy 50th.

Happy Birthday, HW!

You surf damn good for an old bloke, you got more speed going on those mush burgers than half the 30 yr olds I see. Good job on the vid, too.

Headwax
Enjoyed your clip, some Sunnyboys tunes ? and one from Machinehead. I thought you showed some pretty handy surfing in the beachbreaks. Is the reciprocal arrangement now 4 weekends of gardening detail ?

Headwax, pretty amazing editing work. I can't believe all the effort you put into the final creative product--you've got a real talent there, and you really surf well!

many thanks for the kindness

Post by Headwax. »

well.... umm I feel embaressed

(Okay I'm standing up and clearing my throat quietly, adjusted my tie cause it's a little tight right now)

Thanks very much for the well wishes!!!!! You know I never felt old till I saw the number 50 on one of my birthday cards. And I thought
"aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggggggggggggggggggh!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAggggggggggggggggggggggggggh!
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhh!
(just kidding)

It's an amzing world where anyone of us can get a little video, mix it up, and stick it up on the web, and communicate with people?

Thankyou to the kindness of the people who took the time to watch the video. And also to those who had a chance to respond. And your kind comments.

The world in 2007 is an amazing place. Isn't it?

It's wonderful that this site and the British site bring so many people with one interest together.

Cheers a gain.

HW :)

PS Scott Mac, I toyed with changing the title to the opposite "Take drugs if you watch this movie" but I thought that would blow my chances of being the next Governor of California ;)

And yep Shelfbreak I'm on gardening duty..... heh.... so unfortunately I can't take up your very kind offer Steenos - and Stoney the cake will have to stay in the fridge till next comp :( , and Weirdo, yep she is a fine woman - but don't tell her, and Xmas, as you know I have a pshychoadgicacalalall problem where I have to, by Doctor's orders, go surfing at least thrice a week for my mental health, and Skansand, Dorje and ksmh3 and Beeline Number Two - I'll get you some of that birthday cake when I find out where Stoney lives (he's moved and won't tell me his address) - and Darcy and Scott, I see you have excellent taste :)

and El Nino, I'm still wishing..... I can see a wild storm on the horizon and a lightening strike just hit the top of a bent old telegraph pole about eighty yards away, and I never knew that lightening made magnesium white flashes ...... and that big southerlys coming, I can just about smell the swell it'll be pushing in by Friday ...

hmm, amazing place is the world

:)
