Can someone please explain how he does the mid-face 360 at 3:30?!?
It could be worse, I could be in Oakla-homa.

Board size is definately 6'2" or greater, no question about that... I also suspect his fin placement is 17" plus from the tail, I shudder to think how far up the centre fin must be. More importantly though is how narrow the nose and tail are, there isnt enough rail to dig into the water to help him compensate for how loose the board is.

there is also no question that the guy absolutely rips... my earlier comment had more to do about imagining how much better he would surf on different equipment.

Kneelobro... take the middle fin(s) off any kneeboard and doing 360's in knee high waves is easy...

I'd much rather see guys riding equipment that is "too long" rather than too short.
The guy KILLS IT, and he looks like he's having a blast...

In watching it again, it looks like he rides a different board early in the video for a couple of waves(reddish and smaller).

The guy does rip.

Watching this guy surf is like watching a good 'mal rider' surf.......got to agree with Albert on this one, he would surf more in the 'pocket' of the wave, and would be able to drive off the bottom better if he was on a smaller board .....and with control!
360's....my first kneeboard was a twinnie, so doing 'spin' 360's was just the norm, as was to be able to surf backwards on a wave...the stabilizer third fin just helps control the 360 better.
Compare the surfing ( look at what the board is doing ) in these vids of Slats, and see how they are not struggerling to drive their boards ......I think Greenough hit the 'nail on the head 'about the theory of fitting your 'watercraft', whatever that might be, into the warp and shape of the wave face.
Still a pretty cool vid with some good music 8)

a flat spin does not equate to a 360. Board and hair could both go shorter, but , old mate does get after it!

i was thinking the guy is no slouch on his feet as well. maybe thats why he is riding a longer stick?
those closeout reos are pretty solid.
He even makes Dreamland look fun(that place is a toilet as far as surfing goes).

this has got to be one of the funniest threads in a long while.......

some guy posts a pretty darn cool kneelo video and the next thing he's had his bio slapped up on line (I'll claim responsibility for that  ) and had his surfing and board choice thoughrily disected!!!!

think he's going to post more vids, or does he see the humour in this!!! :?: :?:

8)  :P

Was thinking the same kinda thing myself :?

Of all the links and vids we are now seeing on the internet..this one shows something special

THIS guy can surf :!:

:D :D

And given his competance standingup..he still decides to do (most) of his surfing on his knees

If he ever reads this..whatever you do, mate..please keep having the amount of fun I have just witnessed when I watched you surf

regards from OZ
