Very cool HW, looks like you are making a kneeboarding video game.

Now that Paris Hilton is a DUI jailbird, and has shattered my faith in her, although she is still "hot," I need a new avatar, do you mind if I use the bottom green board dude? :D

Headwax that is truely trippy!.... does it work with 3D glasses too??

I thought you had been quiet because you had become so involved with you avatar in 2nd life... but you have been far more productive...

keep up the good work

Loved the realism of some of the basic body postures while surfing. Will be great to see the final product (or future versions); what a creative genius!

 8)

Andrew,

That embodies everything I love about what might be described as an 'artisan' sport... if you can even call it a sport.

Beyond the avatar question... can we share this a bit?

HOT! IMHO.

Hi

well thankyou muchos gracias for all the interest!!

Wasn't sure what the response would be seeing it's out of mind, so to speak and my mind is sort of odd ..... or so I've been told ;)

I appreciate the interest the kind comments very much.

Seven (six?) weeks ago I fell on my fins (free fall backwards over the falls - got them on either side of my backbone (ouch) and couldn't paddle for a few weeks- so I thought I'd better do something :) So I decided to learn animation....

The little video is a kind of documentation of the learning process. You can see the meshwork, the figures with no faces and no hands, the cylnders pretending to be waves. Steep learning curve!!! Lot of fun to do though.

Scott

As you can see the figures are kind of stiff - I've been concentrating on modelling the wave - aaaaaaaaaaaaagh :) before I get the figures right!!

But.... imagine filming a scene where you can stick the camera anywhere, have any lighting you want at the flick of the switch, film it from multiple angles without having to worry about the expense. Anything you can imagine can be done ...... given the time. That little scene with the birds and the point break was a six hour job. But I was inventing ways of doing it.... once you invent them they are in your tool box. (it took 12 hours to render 200 frames - and at 24 frames a second that's not many seconds) Ho!

Weirdo

Yep it can be done in three d strangely enough. I don't know what the user requirements are - eg extranous hardware though .... good thought ! Would be very trippy.... maybe too trippy ;)

Skansand

sorry it's not going to really be a game :( Merely a trippy pseudo reality to dissapear into when the waves are flat --- err did I say "merely" :)

SFKneelo and Steenos

much obliged for your careful and well thought out comments ;)
you are both very intelligent men .....

SFkneelo

sorry not sure what you mean about "sharing"....
if you are asking about pointing people in the video direction by all means, would be my pleasure.

Early days yet ;)

Hope everyone is getting plenty of waves

cheers

headwax :)

I always figured she bathed in the adoration of the magii ... er I mean media :)

Beeline

had trouble with the penguins. I can't get their heads right. (Gee I can't even get my head right ) Its a bit rough around the tail and the swimming motion.... but I've fixed that up in a later avi
