SPELLBOUND

Post by Bud »

Now, this isn't a short flick.

Check it when you got 28min 40 seconds to spare.

Absolutely spellbinding !

Gives a very good look at one of surfings greatest (and rarest) treasures.
A great kneeboarding spot to be sure.

Hard to make any comparison.

Nice clip Bud

Heard of it, but I've never seen footage of it. Looks like a spot you can get waves since the wave is always passing the rider up - lots of unridden waves and sections :D Perfect for speed-demon kneeriders! :o :o

Spellbound indeed! 8)

Bud,

Shows the epic wave better than any video I've seen.

Bud, what sort of kneeboard would you shape for a wave that fast at that size?

Scott I bet an F2K would be fast enough.

I've got a few friends that fly to Maui when the stars are in alignment for Maalaea to break. I do believe it has a pretty small swell window and those offshores are pretty much standard conditions. One day. Ahhhhhh.

An F2k would fly! I surfed there when I was a pup, 16 and 17 years old. One of my best friends from high school moved there and I would visit for weeks at a time during the late summer and xmas vacation, his poor mother. There would be 2-3 hour windows when the swell would angle through and get in.We would score for an hour or so before anybody knew what was up and then usually the swell would just vanish. The wave is amazing. You would pull in going as fast as you can and once you were inside it was like you weren't even moving. The lip would always be out ahead of you, you couldn't gain on it, you'd just get deeper and deeper...

AMAZING  That's some heavy offshores. Need a heavy weigthed board just to get down the face. Carnage...no guts....no glory
