Its great to see this footage again Steen The last time I seen it was 10 yrs ago it blew me out then and still dose now.

Do you still have that footage that Gav Colman took of you at the 96 Aus tital at Coolam QLD I remember sitting with gav and you pulling the most amazing explosive air in those waves ...

We thought you would of got through but in those days the surfing was judged different and head dips were judged higher than airs...

Keep the footage coming mate

Steen,

Unreal surfing! You have done so well behind the camera but your surfing should be out in front too. Loved the bottom turns, off-the-top fin blow- outs, tube rides etc. Inspirational. 8)

 thanks everyone  truely humbling

i really appreciate all your positive comments, i grew up kneeboarding away from the kneeboard masses, i did not really hang with kneelo's outside of gatherings. I rode fin back designs (like USA boards) in this footage and previous years, thruster setups. All my mentors where ripping stand up surfers. Martin Potter was the man for me in the 80's

This footage was 4 weeks before Simon's trip to Maldives in 95, he came and checked it before he and Baden went. My girlfriend at the time was kind enough to film this for me, and you guessed it....this was the worst surf, and easiest surf to film of the trip. But i was stoked to get any footage.

I do have more footage floating around, and will slowly dig it all out...its very time consuming.

Glad everyone enjoyed it, its another video added to the slowly building youtube library of kneeboarding.

Hey Stan
I do remember that, i think my x girl shot the footage (sylivia) and Gav was staying with me on that trip. Badens bro, Andrew won that year huh?
I will have that footage somewhere, that was a backflip and landed back towards the beach.

thanks again guys

Pretty funny you watched Martin Potter Steen  Like yourself, I watched a standup also, Mark Richards. 8) Total style, which is why I won't ride certain ways on a kneeboard.
Did I tell you I was in SA at the Gunston 500 when Martin busted in at 15 years old and got second place. Pure power at 15 years old!
I still have the original poster for the contest with Cheyne Horan on it.
I was on the national team competing against their amateurs.
Got to surf the "Bay of Plenty," Greenpoint" most recorded shark attacks ever in the world at the time, but I didn't know it, and was Surfing mag's top ten waves one time 8). I was surfing it with Potter, Shaun Thompson, PT, and Ian Cairns, a very young Tom Curren, as well as some others. Pretty cool to be sharing waves out there with them.
