Albert, the Gopro I used is the latest HD version, had a few issues with it clouding up in the tropical weather, but all in all, love it. Good fun to be able to have a Bintang and go through all the waves from the session on the lappy. Highly recommend getting one.
This one is not my board but same setup.

Pez,

Cool vid footage! I have the new HD GoPro as well and used it last week on a helmet mount. What setting are you using for the surf id stuff?

I enjoyed especially the footage at the end with the helmet cam view.

Thanks!

Hi Jeff, if I remember correctly, I have it in setting R1 at 60 frames a second. That's the clearest setting available.
They recommend a different setting which is far more vertical, but being kneelo's we don't need that. So it's on the widest setting as well, which I think is R1. Hope that helps

Thanks Waka, maybe I should of had a look at instructions first.

It is on R3, so wide as R2, but with more frames per second.

Scott, it was not a helmet view, still mounted on board, just facing forward. Was hoping to get some Crystal Voyager moments but never really got those kind of conditions.

Thanks Pez!

Im gonna try it and see what it looks like when our water cleans up a bit. The rains have brought some of Tijuanas best brown trout north to IB. Plus my head still is a bit funky after my abrupt meeting with my board last week. Great vid you shot and love the waves! They seem like they are never ending!!!

Waka, I reckon it would be hard to get any footage in that position. :D

Maybe you could try the deck mounted camera, would look excellent in barrels like that one.
I want to try the wrist strap, some blokes in Indo had them to take photos of mates surfing as well as their own.

Jeff, hopefully you got that head injury on film, so that there is proof.
Yes, the wave in Indo do go for ever, one I got timed in at about 30 seconds.

Pez,

Being the novice GoPro guy I pushed the button on top of the cam before I dropped in on the wave not knowing that it had shut off. So that being said there is no video footage but my girl was on the beach shooting and snapped a pic.

The only thing you can see when you zoom in on the pic is the yellow and green stripes on the helmet. I will post it up later today. Im editing a ton of pix I shot for the annual Dempsey Holder surf contest and ocean festival that was held here in Imperial Beach last Sunday.

I hope to get back in the water as soon as the sewage signs are pulled to get the GoPro back out there and hopefully capture some good stuff. The only thing I managed that day was a drop in on a close out and the ride into the beach. Nothing spectacular but cool footage none the less.

Jeff, hope your head is feeling better. I read your other post and it seems quite serious your head wizzie. Take care with that.

The shutting off feature with the GoPro is annoying, just when you think that you got that great wave , you find out that it's a sleep. Happened more than once to me. I figure a remedy would be buy a 16GB card and leave it on all session, a lot easier. I'm only using a 4GB, which lasts precisely 42min.

Waka, The software I'm using is standard Mac software.ie: Imovie, Iphoto. That Pinnacle 14 Studio HD, sound serious, might have to look into it. Any advice.

Cheers Braden
