yeah you could get up the beach in an old eh no worries, with the help of 4 x 6m planks to get you over the coffee rocks and through the soft sand and to park it at the foot of the dunes at back beach dbl island. You had to get up as far as you could as you were usually up there chasing cyclone swell. Without the fancy shmancy 4x4's, you had to lug your boards, camping gear & food oh yeah and the xxxx [beer] [[ queenslanders can't spell]] over the north side in the soft sand. Fukn mission it was.
