Meanwhile during the KSUSA finals on Sunday...

...up the coast at Ocean Beach this is what the same swell we were surfing at Huntington looked like--some of the most perfect and challenging waves I've ever seen there: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RU5RfOzHrIo

Best to turn down your speakers as the music is pretty weird.

Big wave specialist Mike Parsons nearly drowned there that day:

You wanna know what it's like to surf Big OB... Watch the guy from the opening wave (Blue and Grey suit) trying to paddle back out during the next set.
He's been swept 100 yards and made zero progress.

Can't count how many times I've gotten "the best wave ever" to then just get demolished trying to get another one.

Very interesting those pros were riding their Mavericks boards (8'4" plus) and didn't feel undergunned.

This reminded me of when I was 12 years old, me and my brother would sneak down to the high school to see the big kids play baseball, while we watched through the fence thinking, If those guys just let me play in, I know I can get a hit, I know I can keep up with them.

Insane courdaroy sets for ever! That blue and grey wetsuit guy stalls for the visual fix and then takes his medicine. He made some good ones too.

Here's yet another video presentation of that swell at Ocean Beach, and it's pretty amazing--shows how OB is right up there with the top few massive beach breaks spots in the world. Cold, cruel and purrrfect!!

Pretty awesome synching of the soundtrack with the waves as they spit...

Beautiful and intimidating at the same time.

You could power "the city" with those.

Great vidio, Scott :!: The lefts looked not unlike the waves we had here, Saturday. One major difference however  We have a channel to paddle out in. Honestly, I think the only way I could surf those waves is with the assistance of a jet ski, or preferably a helicopter
None rich, none poor. Everyone happy.
