I agree with you beeline, the size of the surf makes a huge difference to watch, but hey when we all run business's, work or whatever, its very difficult to align time together when there is actually a good swell. So you take what you can. We had plenty of days of swell, but Simon was working, or I was working or chayne and troy was working, or Albert was studying, or Kyle lives 2 1/2 hours drive away. SO yeah it makes it difficult to get alot of quality footage, I know my part on there came from 4 surfs and Simon had to pick from about 20 waves only, and same with alberts. Most of our footage, was if we actually had waves on a weekend, and you know how rare they are.
Also you have to remember that no one is funding this movie, so there are no Indo trips, West Aussie jaunts etc, mmmmm sounds nice to chase big quality waves. Its noticeable, especially from Simons footage which is years of accumulation, a big choice of footage makes a big difference..........when there is no corporate sponosor

Feesurfing in contest mode......always redirecting to the curl.....thats just surfing in the pocket....no point running to the shoulder.

I suppose we all look for different results.

cheers

I thought the video showcased cutting-edge kneeriding quite well. Those guys ripped! As Steeno said, it's tough to put together a professional grade video with limited time and coin. All things considered: like raising a family, working full time, and funding a project that will likely net no profits..... I say MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! The vid featured Aussie Kneelos tearing it up at their local breaks.
The 1st vid featured only Simon at many worldwide renowned breaks in larger surf. The second featured Simon and others from around the world as well. I must compliment Simon and his lovely wife, Bec, on the progress in quality of "Now and Then" compared to the first"Sparrow." THANKYOU for taking the time and dedication to undertake such projects. IT'S GREATLY APPRECIATED! I can't begin to comprehend the technical details
editing, finding music, and headaches to pull this off. Hats off to ya.
Hey Beeline, maybe we can see these guys in some XXL waves on the Northshore. Are you going? Wayne

my favourite scene from sparrow and friends is the opener at Deadmans - what 8-10 ft or so? just frekin solid stuff and the ability of the sparrow to choose a path into a tube when the thing lookes like its gunna collaspse on his head.....shhhesk!!!

however

when the lads are riden 3 to 6 - which is the norm for me - thats when i get the most outa it in terms of my own development - giggs at the secret spot , the other guy whose name just dropped outa my head (masters world champ) and simon on the yellow board - that what i and probably many experientially relate to

i get now and then in 23 more sleeps and whilst i like seeing big waves its a bit like porn - nice work if you can get it - but these days i like looking into my daughters face rather than the face of fear in my mind - the odd trembles ok maybe a shiver - balls are balls after all

soooo i will be quite cool about seeing moderate size waves as a inspiration to do more with what i get - but i can understand if your a big wave punter then your lookin for the same as me...just bigger

I am just tickled there is someone making kneeboard movies. Well done movie. Some bigger waves would have made it even better.

I may be in the minority but think that a mixture of kneeboard with standup (maybe longboard) would make a more marketable film and therefore more money for travel. This formula worked pretty well for GG in the 70's.

cool call jack..........send it here aswell

Chayne and Troy made a movie this year (not for sale) called Jungle Juice, them and 3 stand up mates tearing up indo, it is very cool and very progressive.

Rob Slater is in the midst of making a mixed up movie, standups, kneelo's, boogies, bikes etc. it will be interesting to

The coconut telegraph spit out a message a few months ago saying that big wave footage from Hi was being delayed, and that Simon couldn't wait any longer for it.

Thanks for the input guys! :?

Yes! I think the video needed bigger waves & I won't go into the reasons why there weren't any as I believe my good friend Steeno :D got most of it correct.

I put this forward to all who read this, you want big waves on video!
I can't video it if you don't go out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nothing would please me more than to show kneeboarding in high performance waves & I'm doing what I possiblly can to show this.
I've gone & bought the top of the range you fu--ing beut video camera for the Hawaiian gathering so that if it does bless us with good waves we will have it on nothing but the best.
Cant wait to meet everyone who is going.
